I’m a comedian. I do 8 things:
perform standup, host, act, write, speak, consult, rant & rave.
Hosting
I’m a host – live, radio, TV, and web.

Live Host
I’m a live host. As opposed to a dead host. Which was probably the result of a parasite. A little biology humor there. I like hosting because it feels like I’m responsible for people’s happiness for an evening. And for me, it’s easier to make a lot of people a little bit happier than one person a lot happier. But enough about my dating life. THIS GUY. I also get a lot more opportunity to play around with the crowd than when I’m only doing standup.
I often host public and private events, at comedy clubs like the Hollywood Laugh Factory, and even sometimes with Miss India America Melanie Kannokada.

Radio Host
I have my own weekly one-hour podcast called, “The Funny Indian Show.” It’s available in iTunes and can be heard on Radio Dil in New York City.
I add a new one every Thursday. Scroll down to see.
It’s a preset list of questions. What sets it apart from other podcasts is that I ask questions I personally want to know – and hopefully they’re more compelling than what you’ve heard before. If not, then… well, hey, it’s for me. They start with some light banter and then get heavier. Some of them are intentionally vague and are open to interpretation by the guest. The tone of the show is as serious or funny as the guest wants it to be. We don’t get to every question and we jump around a lot depending upon the flow, so it’s not only known as The Funny Indian Show Podcast but also The TanGent Show, because I’m a… tan gent.

TV Host
My ultimate career goal is to host the Oscars. On the way there, I’d like to have my own talk show. The good part is I have had my own talk show. Check out some clips in the Video player below. It was called “Desi States of America” and was kind of like The Daily Show, except that there was no studio audience and, given that I often caught a red-eye from LA to NY and shot 4 episodes in one day, we did most of it in one take – mistakes and all. And boy, you’ll see some.
Web Host
Melanie Kannokada and I have developed a web program that we co-host called, “That’s What’s Up.” Check us out in the Video player below.
